The Holding Cell
Located in the basement of the studio is the detention cell—an area that deliberately takes a completely different approach than many traditional themed rooms. The design is based on a functional and authentic prison aesthetic, creating a significantly more serious atmosphere the moment you enter. Instead of decorative elements, the focus here is on a realistic environment that convincingly supports a wide variety of role-playing scenarios.
The area is divided into two interconnected sections. The front section features an interrogation room, which appears particularly authentic due to its austere design and is ideal for conversations, questioning situations, or controlled procedures. Directly adjacent to this, a separate door leads into the actual cell, creating a realistic transition between the two areas and allowing for even more authentic scenarios.
The cell is characterized by its solid barred elements, the simple sleeping area, and the lockable cage, which complements the space both visually and functionally. This creates an environment reminiscent of a real detention situation and realistically supports a wide variety of concepts. The cage, in particular, opens up additional possibilities for scenarios in which control, observation, or the feeling of confinement are to take center stage.
The design was deliberately kept clear and minimalist to preserve the room’s impact. Cold surfaces, the functional furnishings, and the clear separation between the interrogation area and the cell create a cohesive overall effect that is noticeably distinct from the studio’s other rooms.
Longer stays in particular can be staged very convincingly in this space. The combination of an interrogation room and an actual cell creates an environment where situations can be portrayed realistically over an extended period of time. As a result, the room is suitable not only for short scenes but also for more elaborate concepts involving various sequences and role assignments.
The detention cell offers numerous possibilities for different preferences and ideas. In addition to classic prison or detention scenarios, strictly controlled role-playing games, observation situations, or controlled procedures can also be realistically portrayed. At the same time, there is sufficient flexibility to customize sessions and design them flexibly.
The location in the basement also contributes to the area’s unique atmosphere. This sets the room apart from the rest of the venue and gives it a distinct presence within the studio. It is precisely the combination of the interrogation room and the locked cell that makes this area an extraordinary part of the entire venue.
The clear spatial structure and realistic design create an area that is particularly well-suited for authentic and detailed scenarios. It is precisely this interplay of interrogation room, cell, and lockable cage that gives the detention cell its special and unmistakable atmosphere within the studio.
